Sarah's Background and Practice

Sarah Wheatley qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1984 from Normanby College, Kings College Hospital in London, UK.   She worked in the NHS before moving to Spain.

After working in private practice here in Spain for some years, Sarah felt that many people, in particular foreign residents on the Costa del Sol, were in need of a home based physiotherapy service.  Most private Physiotherapy clinics are unable to offer regular home visits due to busy in-clinic patient loads.

Sarah offers private physiotherapy treatment in your own home to those who find it hard to get out and about. Other services include Home Assessments for Independent Living and a Rental Service for Home & Disability Aids.

Sarah works closely with other Physiotherapists and Doctors on the Costa del Sol to provide the appropriate physiotherapy treatment for their patients at home when it is necessary.  Sarah will also help you find other properly qualified health professionals on the Costa del Sol (English speaking if necessary), such as Doctors, Home-care Assistants and Nurses, Speech Therapists, Podiatrists or Chiropodists, Counsellors, Optometrists and specialist Physiotherapists.

In 2004 she successfully completed specialised training in the management and treatment of Lymphoedema and associated lymphatic problems.  The courses were organised by the Physiotherapy College of Andalucia (ICPFA) and were taught by certified Vodder trained Physiotherapists.  As well as her regular practice, Sarah holds Post Mastectomy & Lymphoedema consultations at a clinic near San Pedro.
